He said that it is better to avoid sitting in AC theaters, participate in get to-gethers and meetings as there were more chances of getting infected with KILLER VIRUSES. A joint meeting was arranged  with Rotary Bangalore South Senior Citizen Sangha in which Dr. HVR Setty made a very informative presentation about the causes for the dreaded disease, its effect , prevention and treatment.
The other important points he narrated were
* Swine flu is contagious, and it spreads in the same way as the seasonal flu.
*Most symptoms are the same as seasonal flu. They can include: Cough, fever, sore throat, stuffy or runny nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue.
Dr. Setty suggested the following prevention steps to be on the safer side. Hand wash with soap and water/ alcohol based sanitizer. Wash when you touch door knobs, computer keyboard, hand rails and phones when you suspect contact with a swine flu patient. During epidemics avoid crowds, parties, especially when people with cough and cold are present. Do not eat snacks out of canisters. Gargle with warm water/ warm salt water. Turn away from coughing persons/ covering your nose and mouth with handkerchiefs.
