Service you can stand inside, study under, and live because of
Six decades of projects across education, health, sanitation, livelihoods and youth — many permanent, all personal.
Restoring Government Schools
What began as a CSR partnership with global chemical major SABIC has become one of the district's most admired education programmes. Dilapidated government schools — leaking roofs, broken benches, unusable toilets — are comprehensively rehabilitated and handed back to their communities as places of pride.
- Sompura Government Primary School restored and inaugurated by Karnataka's Education Minister (2017)
- Four more schools across Anekal Taluk — Halasahalli, Kommasandra, Narayanagatta and Alibommasandra (2018)
- More than two dozen schools rehabilitated over the programme — including two British-era heritage schools
Merit-cum-Means Scholarships & BSRT
Through the Bangalore South Rotary Trust (BSRT), the club runs an annual merit-cum-means scholarship programme for students who have the marks but not the means. Applications are invited each year and awards presented at our mega scholarship events.
- Endowment corpus built through named funds — including the H. S. Nagaraj Fund, the BMSCAAA Fund and a US-based UVCE Foundation endowment
- Awards instituted by the club: the Dr. P. R. Satyanarayana Setty Young Surgeon Gold Medal, the Sunderlal Bagai Agricultural Scientist Gold Medal, Teachers Awards and Vocational Excellence Awards
Healthcare for the Underserved
Our health portfolio focuses on permanent capacity, not one-day camps alone — though we run plenty of those too.
- Neonatal ICU and mammography unit at Ranga Dorai Hospital
- Dialysis centre with the Vasavi Trust — equipment worth about ₹36 lakh
- Wheelchair distribution camps for the mobility-impaired, including at Shidlaghatta
- Health screenings and blood-donation drives with our Rotaract and Inner Wheel partners
Building Village Infrastructure
Brick-and-mortar service at village scale, concentrated along the Sarjapura–Attibele belt the club has adopted over decades.
- 100 comfort stations at Santhekallahalli (~₹39 lakh)
- Five government primary school buildings (~₹1.5 crore)
- Check dam at the Bio-Park, Bangalore University — water security and groundwater recharge
- Bus shelter on the Sarjapura–Attibele highway
Livelihoods & Rural Upliftment
Sustainable income beats charity. Two programmes embody that conviction:
- Ksheerabhyudhaya — donation of dairy cows to rural families, converting a gift into a livelihood
- TEACH Mission at Sarjapura — literacy and skills so that opportunity reaches the village, not the other way round
Raising the Next Generation
Our annual Rotary Youth Festival draws around 1,500 students, and our sponsored Rotaract, Interact and RCC network keeps young Bengaluru connected to service all year round — from RVCE's Rotaractors to Interactors at National High School, VVN, JSS and beyond.
Youth leadership programmes, career guidance and the club's gold-medal awards for young professionals round out a portfolio that invests where it matters most: in people with the most future ahead of them.
Service multiplied by partnership
Corporate CSR partners like SABIC, institutions like the Vasavi Trust and Ranga Dorai Hospital, The Rotary Foundation's global grants, and the family of Inner Wheel, Rotaract and Interact — our impact has always been a team effort. If your organisation would like to build something lasting in Bengaluru, let's talk.
